Slipstreaming OS X updates #
into clean system images that can be restored to blank drives:
  • DeployStudio creates and restores custom disk images.
  • InstaDMG "creates clean, never-booted ASR images for deploying MacOS X". Tutorial
  • NetRestore method uses Apple's System Image Utility included with the free Server Admin Tools.
  • PSU Blast Image Config supports OS X versions from 10.2.2(!) to 10.7 and "restores asr-ready disk images created with various tools: Apple Disk Utility and System Image Utility, InstaDMG, etc."
or into new bootable installer disc images:
  • BootCD - "Create bootable OS X CDs" (OS X 10.3 only)
  • Slipy 1.3 - "Create DVD disk images from existing OS X CD set" (OS X 10.3 only)
  • Slipstream OSX - "A Mac OS X Install DVD conversion script" (written primarily for OSx86 and 10.5)
