3 open source audio apps for OS X #

Cog, the lightweight media player for OS X, first appeared in this space back in 2005. Thanks to Ari for letting us know it is once again under active development. In addition to all of the common audio formats, Cog supports Ogg Vorbis (.OGG), Flac (.FLAC), and Shorten (.SHN) among others.
Clementine is another music player and library organizer inspired by Amarok. It's quite a bit larger than Cog, but can serve as an iTunes replacement, with wide Internet radio support and limited portable device syncing.
Mixxx is a DJ mixing console with iTunes integration, MIDI controller support, Internet broadcasting, and an integrated music library.

UPDATE: Sergey kindly informs us of his open source music player, Nulloy. It includes a waveform progress bar and in addition to OS X, supports Linux and Windows as well.
