Improve OS X's Finder #

with these two freeware apps for 10.6 - 10.9:

Change file size display from base 10 (introduced in 10.6) back to base 2 (introduced at the dawn of computing) with switchDiskSizeBase. You'll need to have Command Line Tools for Xcode (or similar) installed. Defaults can be restored simply by rerunning. More info: Snow Leopard ditches real math for fake.
XtraFinder fixes the Finder for Apple, adding great features like tabs, dual panels, cut & paste, long-awaited Content Menu items (Copy Path, New File, New Terminal Here, etc), and colored icons in the Sidebar.
